The daring young female lawyer Anima

Anima, a young female lawyer in Kerala, voiced her opinion against the gender discrimination at the Lawyers' Bar Association in Kozhikode, Kerala. The Bar association decided to suspend her for it!

She put up facebook posts expressing her views of the discriminatory practices against women by other lawyers in the Bar association.

At the General Body meeting of the association, she was asked to apologise. When she bravely refused, they verbally abused and threw chairs at her!!

Suspending her is clearly an act of gender discrimination. It is also an attack on her Fundamental Right to Speech and Expression.

Kozhikode Bar Association has produced brilliant lawyers and it should support lawyers like Anima who stand up against injustice. It is also their responsibility to stand against gender discrimination.
