అక్కడ బెడ్ రూముకీ టాక్సుట!!
పన్నులు పదివేల విధములు!
బ్రిటీష్ కాలంలో ఉప్పు మీద పన్ను విధిస్తే మహాత్ముడు దండి సత్యాగ్రహం చేశాడు. ఆపై రోజుల్లో జుట్టు మీద పన్ను, చెట్టు మీద పన్ను.... ఖజానా నింపుకునేందుకు పాలకులకు సవాలక్ష మార్గాలు. ఈమధ్య కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం వంట గ్యాసు సబ్సిడీకి కోతవేసి సిలిండర్ల సంఖ్య తగ్గించే సరికి దేశప్రజానీకం గగ్గోలు పెట్టింది. 2014 ఎన్నికలు తరుముకొస్తున్న వేళ ఓటర్లను ఆకట్టుకునేందుకు 'టెన్ జన్ పథ్' పెద్దలు వేసిన పాత ఎత్తుగడే నగదు బదిలీ పథకం. అంటే సబ్సిడీ రూపంలో సర్కారు వెచ్చిస్తున్న డబ్బును నేరుగా లబ్ధిదారుడి బ్యాంకు ఖాతాలో జమచేయడం. దీనికి ఆధార్ నెంబరుతో ముడిపెట్టారు. ఈ నెంబరు సంపాదించడం భారతదేశమంతా అతి పెద్ద సామాజిక సమస్యలా మారింది. పాకిస్థాన్, బంగ్లాదేశ్ ల నుంచి వచ్చిన అక్రమ వలసదారులు సునాయాసంగా రేషన్ కార్డు, బ్యాంకు ఖాతా, అడ్రస్ ఫ్రూఫ్, ఆధార్ కార్డు సంపాదించుకునే మన ప్రజా స్వామ్య దేశంలో సామాన్యుడికి మాత్రం ఇవి కావాలంటే కాళ్లరిగేలా తిరగాలి. హైదరాబాద్ బంజారాహిల్స్ కార్వి ఆఫీసు దగ్గర ఉదయం నాలిగింటి నుంచే ఆధార్ క్యూలు. ఆ పక్కనే రోడ్డు పొడవునా బెంజులు, ఆడీలు, వోక్స్ వ్యాగన్లు... వంట గ్యాసు సబ్సిడి కోసం ఉన్నవాడికి కూడా ఎన్ని కష్టాలో...!?
మన సమస్యకు మనమే....
ఉన్నవాడికైనా, లేనివాడికైనా కష్టాలెందుకంటే మనకు ప్రశ్నించే గుణం లేకపోవడం వల్లే. సబ్సిడీ ఎత్తేస్తున్నా మనం అదేమని అడగం... పన్ను మీద పన్ను బాదుతున్నా కర్మనుకుని కట్టేస్తుంటాం. అదే బ్రిటన్లో ఈమధ్య తెగ ఆందోళనలు జరుగుతున్నాయి. ఎందుకో తెలుసా...? డేవిడ్ కామెరూన్ ప్రభుత్వం విధించిన 'బెడ్ రూం టాక్స్'పై నిరసనలు వెల్లువెత్తుతున్నాయి.

మన ప్రభుత్వాలు సంక్షేమం పేరు చెప్పి పరోక్షంగా ముక్కుపిండి పన్నులు
వసూలు చేసే మార్గాలు ఆలోచిస్తున్నట్లుగానే బ్రిటన్ ప్రభుత్వం కూడా ఈమధ్య 'బెడ్ రూమ్ ట్యాక్స్' విధించింది. వచ్చే నెల నుంచి వసూళ్లు మొదలవుతాయని తెలియగానే ఎక్కడికక్కడ ఆందోళనలు ఊపందుకున్నాయి. పాలకులు ప్రజా సంక్షేమానికి మంగళం పాడుతున్నారన్న మాట. ఒకటి కంటే ఎక్కువ గదులు వినియోగంలో ఉంటే సబ్సిడీలు కట్ చేస్తారు. అనారోగ్యం, డిజేబిలిటీ తదితర కారణాలతో భార్యాభర్తా వేరువేరు గదుల్లో ఉన్నా నష్టమే. తమతో ఉండే తల్లిదండ్రులకు వేరే గది కేటాయించినా, ఎగస్ట్రా గదులున్నాయని అద్దెలకిచ్చినా భారం తప్పదు. (ఇందుకు సంబంధించిన ఏదైనా సమాచారాన్ని ఆ దేశంలో ఉంటున్న ప్రవాసాంధ్రులు షేర్ చేసుకుంటే మనవారికి కొంతైనా చైతన్యాన్ని ప్రేరేపించేలా ఉంటుందని మనవి)

సంక్షేమాలను అటకెక్కించేసి, రాయితీల బాధ్యతను వదిలించేసుకుంటున్నబ్రిటన్ సర్కారు ఆ భారాన్ని ప్రజల మీదే మోపబోతోందిట. ముందుగా హౌజింగ్ బెనిపిట్స్ తగ్గించేస్తున్నారని తెలియగానే బ్రిటన్ వాసుల్లో గుండెళ్లో రాళ్లు పడ్డట్టయింది. ఫస్ట్ ఎఫెక్ట్ 'బెడ్ రూమ్ టాక్సు'. దీనికి వ్యతిరేకంగా యాభై నగరాల్లో నిరంతరాయంగా ఆందోళనలు సాగుతున్నాయి. చలిని కూడా లెక్క చేయకుండా మహిళలు, పిల్లలు నిరసనల్లో పాల్గొంటున్నారు. ఎలాగోలా ప్రభుత్వాన్ని యూ టర్న్ తీసుకునేలా ఒత్తిడి తెస్తున్నారు.
మన నేతలకెప్పుడో కనువిప్పు?!
ఆ ప్రజాగ్రహం చూస్తోంటే ఎలాంటి ప్రభుత్వాలైనా వెనుకంజ వేయడం తథ్యమనిపిస్తోంది. అదే మన ప్రభుత్వాలను ఏ ఆందోళనలూ ఎందుకు కదిలించలేకపోతున్నాయి? ఏ ప్రతిపక్షమూ బాధ్యతాయుతంగా ప్రజల మేలు కోసం పోరాటాలు చేయలేకపోతోంది?. మన గురించి పట్టించుకోని ఈ నాయకులకు మనమెందుకు ఓట్లేస్తున్నాం?. వీళ్లనే మన ప్రతినిధులుగా ఎన్నుకుని చట్ట సభలకెందుకు పంపిస్తున్నాం...?! ఇవన్నీ శేష ప్రశ్నలు మాత్రం కావు. ఎక్కడో చోట సమాధానం దొరుకుతుంది?

మీరు అపార్థం చేసు కొన్నారు. బ్రిటన్ సోషలిస్ట్ దేశం గా ఉండాలని నిర్ణయించు కొన్నందుకు, సంపాదన లేని ప్రతి వాడికి, పిల్లలున్న తల్లిదండ్రులకు ప్రభుత్వం ఇల్లు ఇచ్చి డబ్బులిస్తుంది. ఈ డబ్బులన్నీ కష్టపడి సంపాదించి పన్నులు కట్టిన వాళ్ళ నుండి వచ్చిన ఆదాయం నుంచే. ఈ సదుపాయాన్ని దుర్వినియోగం చేస్తున్న పౌరులు కోకొల్లరు . మీరు ఇటీవల చదివి ఉంటారు. philpott అన్న ప్రబుద్దుడు 17 మంది పిల్లలను పుట్టించి, నెల నెలా 2 లక్షల రూపాయలు ప్రభుత్వం నుండి భరణం పుచ్చుకొంటూ, ఆ పిల్లలో 6 మందిని ఇంట్లో petrol పోసి తగలబెట్టాడు. ఇలాంటి free గా కౌన్సిల్ ఇళ్ళలో ( ప్రభుత్వం ఇచ్చిన ఇళ్ళల్లో) extra గదులు ఉన్నవాళ్ళ వద్ద, ప్రభుత్వం ఈ పన్ను అడుగు తుంది. అది తప్పా? ఊరికే ఇస్తున్న సహాయాన్ని తేరగా తింటూ దుర్వినియోగం చేయకుండా ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకొంటున్న చర్యలలో ఇది ఒకటి.

Did we? Doubtful. "Welfare measure" is a word most misunderstood and most misused and illused. For political parties, Welfare measure means ticket to power. For some section of people, it is a way to demand things for themselves for which they do not know or care wherefrom the money comes.
For the law abiding majority, welfare measure is a big burden which they pay either in direct or indirect tax.
పోస్టుపై స్పందించిన డాక్టర్ సునీల్ గారికి, శివరామ ప్రసాద్ గారికి థాంక్స్. సంక్షేమం పేరుతో ప్రభుత్వం పెడుతున్న ఖర్చంతా భరించాల్సింది కష్టపడి సంపాదిస్తున్న ప్రజలే. ఒక చర్యపై రెండు రకాల స్పందనలుంటాయి. ఇదే బెడ్ రూం ట్యాక్స్ మీద బ్రిటన్ లో అనుకూలంగా మాట్లాడిన వారూ ఉన్నారు. నా పోస్టులో ప్రధాన ఉద్దేశం... అక్కడి ప్రజలు ప్రభుత్వ నిర్ణయాలపై ఎలా ఉద్యమిస్తున్నారో మన వారి దృష్టికి తీసుకురావడమే. మనదగ్గర కరెంటు బిల్లుల మీద సర్ ఛార్జ్ వేస్తున్నా జనం స్పందిం,డం లేదు. ప్రతిపక్షాలు మొక్కుబడిగా ఆందోళనలు చేయడం తప్ప నిరసనలు లేవు. ఈ వడ్డన మీద ప్రజలందరికీ పీకల్లోతు కోపముంది. కానీ ఆ ఆగ్రహాన్ని ఎక్స ప్రెస్ చేయడానికి ఫ్లాట్ పామ్ లేదు. ఎవరూ లీడ్ చేసే వారు లేరు. అందువల్లే ఆ సమాచారాన్ని అందించాం. థాంక్స్.... బ్లాగర్
I feel that no purpose shall be served by holding Government responsible in an instinctive manner. People should also have introspection to what extent they themselves are part of the problem.
Take for example the electricity shortage. Whether anybody is bothered about conserving the energy!! Every household more than one fan shall be turning 24 hours in some cases air conditioners whether really needed or not. In Offices whether required or not lights will be on during the day light time also. The Offices are designed in such a lackadaisical manner which makes it impossible to work without a light.
Almost every house, TV is on for more than 16 hours a day. What for!! To see meaningless serials and concocted news channels dished out by the 24 hours media circus. If people feel responsible and realise their role also, problems can be solved without the necessity of "agitating". Agitation should be made only after citizens realise their responsibilities before demanding for their rights. Now this is happening in reverse order and the part of people's responsibility is conveniently forgotten and its existence almost unknown too.
I do not mean that there is no fault on the part of the Government. But we the people should introspect to what extent we ourselves are responsible for the problems we face on a day to day basis, before going to the extreme step of "agitating".
You must have seen today's papers US Astronaut Sunita Williams making a wonderful statement to the effect that people who do not vote have no right to complain.
This simple aspect of voting many, especially among the so called white collared fellows, not only do not exercise, but heckle those who dutifully do it.
I agree with Dr. Suneel Pooboni. Council Homes and claims system is being misused in Britain. They are trying to reduce the burden on the system so that they can spend funds for other causes. We are getting subsidies on petrol, diesel and other commodities from the govt. and still we expect things from govt.
